Bad Oldesloe lies nestled between the rivers Beste and Trave in the middle of the picturesque Schleswig-Holstein downs. The perfect modern transport connections not only serve as a stepping stone into the region. They also provide access to the North Sea, the Baltic Sea, harbours and airports as well as the cultural highlights in the hanseatic cities which can be reached within a few minutes. Surrounded by greenery and yet so close to the city Bad Oldesloe and its surroundings are renowned as a unique and versatile local recreation area with numerous waterways, bicycle and hiking trails giving our visitors the opportunity to explore the region. Just at the edge of the town is the Brenner Moor. With its 24 hectares, it is the largest inland saltwater marshland in Schleswig-Holstein. On a day-out into the surroundings, it is well worth taking a little detour to go and see the nearby manors and castles such as the castle “Schloss Blumendorf” or the Benedictine monastery in Nütschau originally built in 1577 as a manor house. A visit to the museum housed in the Menno-Kate is an interesting attraction for Mennonites from all over the world. The city center with its attractive shops, restaurants, coffee shops and its appealing cityscape, all well worth discovering, entices you to stroll around the city and dwell for a while, time and again. Bad Oldesloe is a city buzzing with life and full of history, stories, culture, nature and things to discover. There are numerous offers inviting you to explore both the city and its surroundings.

Glinde lies in the south of the Stormarn district. It has been developing as a culture, leisure, recreation and shopping center in the middle of the metropolitan region of Hamburg.
The town stands out for its variety of cultural offerings and its close proximity to nature. From here you can reach the Sachsenwald and so-called Stormarn Switzerland within a few minutes’ drive and likewise you can quickly reach Hamburg’s inner city.
Visit the historic mill “Glinder Mühle” and the local history museum attached to it, the “Heimatmuseum am Mühlenteich” or discover some nature in and around Glinde on one of the many hiking trails. In Glinde’s city forest, the “Stadtwald”, our younger guests in particular can have some fun taking a quiz as part of the educational nature trail. In the old Glinde manor house with its coach house and park you can visit art exhibitions. All in all, Glinde has a lot of culture to offer. Events that take place every year such as the cultural week “Glinder Kulturwochen”; the Jazz days, the market festival, the craft fair “Glinde Kreativ” or the performances of the guest performance theatre “Theater im Forum” attract visitors to the green city from near and far.
On the asphalted greenway along the now disused Südstormarn Kreisbahn railway track, you can cycle for 19 kilometers to Trittau and on the way stop and rest at the lakes Lütjesee and Großensee or even hop in for a swim.
You can get to Glinde by car on the A1 (exit Barsbüttel) or the A24 (exit Reinbek/Glinde).
The public transport Hamburg-Holstein is affiliated with the Hamburg public transport system Hamburger Verkehrsverbund. Busses no. 133 and 333 go to the underground line U2 (station Steinfurther Allee), bus no. 237 goes to the overhead S-Bahn no. S21 (stop Reinbek) and bus line no. 137 goes to the overhead S-Bahn line no. S21 (stop Bergedorf).
