Greenways

Out and about on Stormarn's former railway tracks

Discover the beauty of Stormarn's countryside by bike on our greenways, three old, now disused railway tracks. Along the way, old railway stations, freight and engine sheds line the greenways, recalling nostalgic times long gone. The well-maintained paths bring you past forests, open lakes and protected nature reserves. On your journey, discover some of the old railway history from information boards on the route.

Greenway on the old EBOE train track – Route A

With a distance of 27 kilometers, the cycling track from Bad Oldesloe to Henstedt-Ulzburg runs along the old railway track of the Elmshorn-Barmstedt-Oldesloer-Eisenbahn AG (EBOE). The last train ran here in 1973. Today it is a greenway with information boards along the track telling the history of EBOE.

Your tour starts at the southern end of the Spa gardens in Bad Oldesloe and runs via Blumendorf and Grabau all the way into the district of Segeberg. Europe’s longest educational fruit and tree trail runs parallel to this greenway for 24 km. Between Blumendorf and Henstedt-Ulzburg, when the fruit is ripe, you can pick them and treat yourself to an energy boost.

How to get there by train:
