Greenways

Out and about on Stormarn's former railway tracks

Discover the beauty of Stormarn's countryside by bike on our greenways, three old, now disused railway tracks. Along the way, old railway stations, freight and engine sheds line the greenways, recalling nostalgic times long gone. The well-maintained paths bring you past forests, open lakes and protected nature reserves. On your journey, discover some of the old railway history from information boards on the route.

Route C

Greenway on the Stormarn circular – Route C

The greenway cycling route C runs along the old tracks of the Stormarn circular train track from Trittau to Glinde. The first greenway was built on old railway tracks along this 19 kilometer long route as early as the 1950s. It was an example to other greenways that were subsequently built along other old railway tracks.

Combine your cycling tour with a visit to the Galerie in the Wassermühle in Trittau or to the Stormarn village museum in Hoisdorf. On hot days, stop and take a break at the swimming area at lake Lütjensee. If you are cycling from Glinde to Trittau, you can continue your journey on the greenway route B all the way to Bad Oldesloe.

How to get there by train:
S-Bahn (S21) to Reinbek (ca. 10 km to the Start point in Glinde) U-Bahn (U1) to Großhansdorf (in ca. 5 km you join the route in Hoisdorf) There is parking in Trittau in Kieler Straße.
