Castles and gardens

Discover Stormarn's royal side. Fairytale castles nestled into the landscape take you by surprise when they come into sight. The most famous one is the brilliantly white Castle Ahrensburg with its four towers. But Castle Reinbek, the only castle which, from a historical point of view, is actually a palace, is well worth a visit not to be missed. Stormarn's gardens and parks also tell stories of aristocratic times. From Baroque garden to Chinese garden, from romantic to structured - in Stormarn you will find garden art in various designs.

Monastery Nütschau

Nütschau Manor is a typical Schleswig-Holstein three-gable house, built in 1577 by Count Heinrich Rantzau. Today, it is the northernmost German Benedictine monastery. Guided tours through the grounds and the manor house are available by appointment. Rooms for conferences and seminars are also available. And the monks offer both pilgrims on the Way of St. James and cyclists on the Monk's Path shelter for the night.
