Hiking in Stormarn

Hiking is one of the most popular outdoor activities in Germany. Walking is good for you: it strengthens the heart, gets the circulation going and builds up your muscles. Hikers will be thrilled with Stormarn. Many short and long trails invite you to get some real exercise. There is a wide choice of looped walks and even multi-day tours including overnight stays. Put on your walking boots and get walking - along meadows, fields, lakes and rivers!

The Way of Saint James

An approx. 46 kilometer long stretch of the famous pilgrimage route runs through Stormarn. If you would like to make a pilgrimage on the Way of St. James through Stormarn, you should always go west. In this direction, the trail is clearly marked with the stylized yellow scallop on a blue background. 

The camino takes you from Lübeck via Reinfeld and Bad Oldesloe to the monastery Nützschau in Travenbrück, where the monks offer pilgrims shelter for the night. From here the way continues through Grabau and Sülfeld to the District of Segeberg. Travel comfortably by train to Lübeck, Reinfeld or Bad Oldesloe.
